About

I was inspired by an article I found online that lists “grandfluencers”, who are social media influencers over the age of 60. They are considered inspirations and debunk aging myths on their social media platforms by simply being themselves. This is an interactive website whose purpose is to debunk ageist myths by linking people to stereotype-busting images, videos, and links of the  “Grandfluencers” of today.

Mission

Ageism refers to stereotypes, prejudice, and discrimination towards others or ourselves based on age. Focusing on myths and stereotypes, this project aims to enhance empathy, dispel misconceptions about different age groups, and reduce prejudice by providing accurate information and counter-stereotypical examples.

Vision

In hopes of creating an awareness of the age stereotypes we may internalize and use to guide our feelings and behavior towards people of different ages, this is one step into combating self-directed ageism at any age.
